Rogers First Set Learn & Play Spring Junior Programs:

Our junior programs are designed to introduce fundamental tennis skills for beginner players aged 5-17 years old. Our tennis programs are led by Tennis Canada-Certified Tennis Coaches, who use the Rogers First Set curriculum in a Progressive Pathway (i.e. red, orange, green, etc). These programs are suitable for brand new young tennis players or those with some introductory experience. Progressive tennis allows children to train on courts and with equipment that is better suited for their size and age, promoting active play and making the eventual transition to a full court easier. Our junior tennis programs provide new players with the opportunity to develop fundamental tennis and athletic skills, in a welcoming, supportive, and of course fun environment!

Spring sessions run for 6 weeks from May 14 to June 30, 2025. The week of June 23-29 is reserved for makeup sessions due to inclement weather, however times may differ from the regular schedule.

Junior Red Ball Tennis:

Our Red Ball junior program is ideal for 5-7 year olds who are new to tennis or who have little experience. By using red balls that are larger, slower, and softer than standard tennis balls, it allows players to develop coordination and build confidence while playing on a ½ court. Our Red Ball program includes engaging activities that will lead to the development of fundamental tennis and footwork skills in a positive, energetic, and supportive environment.

Our Spring Session offers 3 options for Red Ball Programs:Wednesdays 5-6pm, Thursdays 5-6pm, or Sundays 9-10am. This program will run for 6 weeks, beginning on Wednesday, May 14, 2025. All programs have an 8:1 Student:Coach Ratio. We kindly ask that all participants have completed one year of kindergarten prior to registering in this program.

Junior Orange Ball Tennis:

Our Orange Ball junior program is ideal for 7-9 year olds who are new to tennis or who have a little experience. This uses balls that are softer, have lower compression, and are 50% slower than standard tennis balls on a ¾ court, allowing for more tactical and technical skill development. This program includes developing upon the fundamental skills of tennis, with a focus on tactics, technique, and athletic movement skills. This is reinforced by our coaches throughout play, with the addition of friendly competition.

Our Spring Session offers 2 options for Orange Ball Programs: Wednesdays 6-7pm, or Sundays 10-11am. This program will run for 6 weeks, beginning on Wednesday, May 14, 2025. All programs have a 6:1 Student:Coach Ratio.

Junior Green Ball Tennis:

Our Green Ball junior program allows participants aged 10-12 to work towards playing on a full size court using a Green Dot ball (75% pressure of a regulation ball). This beginner program focuses on fundamental skills, partner activities, and gameplay, with continued ongoing technical and tactical instruction. This program is beginner friendly, but participants who have previously taken recreational tennis lessons will also fit in.

Our Spring Session offers 2 options for Green Ball Programs: Thursdays 6-7pm, or Sundays 11am-12pm. This program will run for 6 weeks, beginning on Thursday, May 15, 2025. All programs have a 6:1 Student:Coach Ratio.

Junior Yellow Ball Tennis:

Our Yellow Ball junior program allows participants aged 12-17 to work towards playing on a full size court using a regulation tennis ball. This play-focused program will introduce the fundamental tennis skills and essential tactics. This program is beginner friendly, but participants who have previously taken recreational tennis lessons will also fit in.

Our Spring Session offers 1 option for the Yellow Ball Program: Sundays 12-1pm. This program will run for 6 weeks, beginning on Sunday, May 18, 2025. All programs have a 6:1 Student:Coach Ratio.
